BASKETBALL FRIDAY - The sound of hoops will fill the gym at Fulton City High School Friday as Fulton City Basketball Madness tips off at 9 a.m. The event offers a fun way to bbpreview some area basketball players while beating the heat outdoors. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students.

Six teams will play two games each. Fulton County and Vienna (IL) will play in first at 9 a.m. with Fulton City and Dresden (TN) drawing the last match up around 2 p.m.

Each game will consist of four 10 minute quarters with a running clock. The clock stops the last 10 seconds of all quarters except for the fourth quarter in which it stops at the last minute. There will be one minute between quarters. Each team will receive five minutes to warm up and three minutes at half time.

Each team will receive three 30 second time-outs per game. In case of overtime, each team will receive and additional 30 second time out.

Overtime will be one minute long with the clock stopping on all dead balls and fouls. If needed, there will be an additional sudden death overtime if the score remains tied after the first overtime. The first team to score a point will win.

Below is the schedule for Friday:

9 a.m. – Fulton County vs. Vienna (IL)

10 a.m. – Fulton City vs. Livingston Central

11 a.m. – Carlisle County vs Dresden (TN)

Noon – Fulton County vs Livingston Central

1 p.m. – Carlisle County vs. Vienna (IL)

2 p.m. – Fulton City vs. Dresden (TN)
