Wow! This is the last week before Thanksgiving Break! Next week, we will only be in school two days, and then we have a three day break! Please remember the book fair that is going on at our school this week. Also, the Student Council is sponsoring a canned food drive. These donations will be given to a family in need for the holiday season. As the weather gets colder and colder, I urge you to make sure your child has the appropriate outside clothing. We love to go outside, and I believe kids need time to run off steam and energy; however, they must wear their coats. I know many of ours do not like to wear coats, but I ask you make them bring them.
We are rounding up our two-digit math unit this week. I am pleased with the progress my class has made on this unit. I do ask, though, please continue to quiz your child on the one digit math facts. My goal is for ALL my class to know their math facts by the end of the year. We surely don't want them progressing into third grade having to count on their fingers or drawing circles on paper. I will also continue to work hard on this skill here at school.
The Reading Street story this week is Pearl and Wagner. I am still sending home the reading book every Monday or Tuesday night. Also, the spelling words are still being sent home every Monday night.
Bonus: imitate and postage
