Merry Christmas to all! Now that the holiday season is upon us, we can begin to muster up all the Christmas cheer we've been saving the whole year. lol. I, for one, LOVE Christmas! The students have been too busy learning other skills to focus much about Christmas, but it is there breweing under the surface. Next week, they are going to put their writing skills to the test and write letters to Santa. The letters will be published in the local paper. We have many events taking place this week, so be sure to read the DawgBites. You won't want to miss any of these fun events.
In Reading, our story of the week will be Anasi Goes Fishing. We are still diligently on working on two-digit subtraction with and without regrouping in math. Please review the worksheets every night with your child! This is a crucial skill they must know to enter third grade.
There is a PTO meeting Tuesday night at 5:00 p.m. Picture day will also be next Tuesday. Your child should have brought a picture package home to preorder pictures. We need your support. The last day of school will be Tuesday, December 19th. We will have the Christmas program that day also at 1:30 p.m. The Polar Express Day and Christmas parties will be scheduled to take place on Monday, December the 18th.
Have a blessed week! Mrs. Evans
