PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS - Three local students have been selected to participate in The Duke University Talent Identification Program’s 35th Annual 7th Grade Talent Search. Students must be in the seventh grade and live in or attend school within Duke TIP’s 16-state Talent Search region to participate. They must also have scored at the 95th percentile or higher on an acceptable subtest of a grade-level achievement or approved state criterion-referenced test taken in the 5th or 6th grades. Students earning this distinction from Fulton Independent School are: Allison Gibson, Tommy Cabral, and Bry Burton. According to Brenda Mahan, FIS Gifted and Talented teacher, these students will be invited to take the SAT or ACT test during this school year, and along with the honor of earning this distinction, will receive information on innovative programs and resources for high achieving students.
