Operation Preparation

PREPARING FOR STUDENTS’ FUTURES - Community volunteers who care about students’ and Kentucky’s future are the heart of Operation Preparation. The program will benefit not only the Fulton City High School students, but the entire community. Trained volunteer community advisors met one-on-one recently with 8th- and 10th-grade students. The community advisors used the student’s Individual Learning Plan (ILP) to discuss the student’s career aspirations, required education/training and workforce skills and more. The advisors also used the student’s career interest inventory and EXPLORE/PLAN results when talking with them to help further determine if the students are on the right college/career readiness pathway. This event really helped students start thinking about potential careers and enhanced their leadership skills by speaking with professionals - from both within and outside the school - about their goals and aspirations. Fulton Independent is very grateful to the volunteers who helped with this project. The volunteers included:

Erin Hancock – Broadway Dance Company, Fulton

Pete Morgan – Fulton County PVA

Brenda Mahan – Gifted and Talented Cohort

Stephen Keene – Murray State University AIMS Program

Tracy Pulley – Fulton Independent FRYSC Director

Dr. Peter Kiango – Peak Rehab Care of Mayfield; Home Health; supplies OT, PT Rehab services to Benton Hospital; Regional Home Health and Lifeline Home Health
