STATE TRACK RESULTS - The Fulton City High School Girls' 4X100 Relay Team finished 16th Saturday at the state track meet while the FHS Girls' 4X200 Team finished 15th. "An awesome accomplishment for a team that assembled two weeks before the track season began," Fulton City's Athletic Director Chad Malray wrote in an email to the Fulton Independent staff members. "Way to go girls. You make us proud to be Bulldogs!" Malray added. Coach Mike Thomas, head coach of the track team, said the state competition was a wonderful experience for the relay runners. "The girls really worked hard for the most part and what made me most proud was the fact that they were so upset that we didn't finish in top 3," Thomas also wrote in an email sent to all FIS staff members. According to Thomas, the girls who are returning to next year's team have committed to "ruling" 1A. The first-time track coach added that going to the state competition was a great experience for him as well. "I like this sport even more than I thought," Thomas wrote. "We have a lot to be proud of and the future runs through Fulton City. Thanks for all of the support!"
