INFORMATIVE PROGRAM - Trooper Donald Bowman with the Kentucky State Police Post 1 was in Fulton Wednesday to conduct a staff development session with Fulton Independent employees. Via an informative PowerPoint presentation, Trooper Bowman discussed with the group various drugs being used widely in Western Kentucky during his previous service as a narcotics officer with KSP. Some of them, the trooper stated, are still being illegally manufactured, sold and used in the Fulton area today. He also encouraged the group to closely watch prescription drugs in their homes and the homes of family members. Bowman said usage of prescription drugs by people the prescription is not written for is prevalent. The veteran law enforcement official also offered information about signs that staff could watch for to tell is someone is under the influence of a narcotic, hallucinogen or other type of drug.
