Stock Market Game

SUCCESSFUL VIRTUAL TRADERS - Fulton Independent’s own Linus Pulley and TraVail Morgan showed financial savvy this spring while participating in The Stock Market Game through the gifted and talented program, led by Brenda Mahan. Middle school students throughout Kentucky played the game, receiving $100,000 in “virtual” money, investing it in the stock market, and trading stocks as the months went by. At the end of the school year, Pulley and Morgan’s investments showed a profit that was 1.7 percent above that of the S&P 500, giving them first place honors in the region. Pulley attended a luncheon held by the Kentucky Council on Economic Education and received a medal and certificate from Murray State University Center for Economic Education director Todd Broker.
