FUN INTRODUCTION – Prior to the start of the school year, a group of Fulton Middle School sixth graders participated in an orientation that was somewhat, well, amazing. Parents and students were divided into groups and rotated through each middle school class while each teacher described their class and expectations. They also shared different policies, procedures, and other programs for this year. Then the parents met Dr . R.B. Mays, FIS principal, while the students participated in an “Amazing Race” type game. The sixth graders were divided into small groups and not only had to figure out the clues they were given, they also had to perform a specific task before they could open the next clue. The clues introduced them to various aspects and areas of the school. Mays spoke to parents separately on certain procedures and expectations, as well as answered questions. Once everyone finished the race and talking with Mays, everyone enjoyed ice cream.
