Kynleigh Haynes shares a moment with Beda Bulldog at the November Grow Festival held at Carr Elementary.
On November 8, 2018, Fulton Independent Schools held their annual Grow Festival at Carr Elementary. The Grow Festival celebrates school readiness for children ages 0-5 and their families. The Grow Festival is a partnership between the Four Rivers Community Early Childhood Council, Fulton Independent Preschool Head Start, Fulton Independent Early Head Start and Fulton Independent FRYSC and is open to all families in the community. The goal of the Grow Festival is to provide hands on learning experiences for children and provide families with information and materials to help increase school readiness skills in the home. 43 children and adults participated in the festival. Activities included a farm animal petting zoo, book walk, bump and jump, book giveaway, hands on activities and door prizes. Developmental screenings were also provided for interested families. All families received a “grow bag” filled with school readiness materials and information.
