Fulton High School graduate Will Elliott was the guest speaker at the school's annual Veterans Day program Monday morning. Elliott, a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, discussed how much being a member of the military changed his life and how proud he is to be a veteran.
The program also featured members of the University of Tennessee at Martin ROTC who presented the colors at the start of the program and retured the colors to end the event. Following the singing of the National Anthem by Darius Saxton, a FHS student, and a video tribute to veterans, Ben Harned, a FHS staff member, led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance to the American flag and talked about his time in the military and our duties as Americans.
Debbie Jackson shared the POW/MIA Empty Table observance, a moving observance for those who did not come home from war.
The FHS program was spearheaded by Mike Thomas, the FIS Community Education director.
