SCIENTIFIC FUN - Fulton Independent School’s 21st Century Community Learning Centers program hosted a Family Science Night recently featuring Jason Lindsey aka “Mr. Science” with Hooked on Science. The free program was sponsored by Lindsey, Murray State University and the Calloway County Conservation District. From soaring toilet paper to lightning bolts, Lindsey started the night – held in the Carr Elementary School gym – with a hands-on science program. After Lindsey got the students and their family members excited about science, they were able to do several science experiments on their own at a variety of science stations. Lindsey, MSU and the Calloway County Conservation District partnered together to serve 18 counties in the Western Kentucky area teaching students about science through hands-on experiments and demonstrations for no cost to the schools. The 18 counties consist of Ballard, Caldwell, Calloway, Marshall, Carlisle, Crittenden, Fulton, Graves, Henderson, Hickman, Hopkins, Livingston, Lyon, McCracken, Trigg, Union, and Webster. Approximately 60 people participated in the Family Science Night at Carr.
