Jason Lindsey, the Science Guy, visited fourth grade students at Carr Elementary. The students participated in a variety of hands on science experiments using the scientific method to guide their way.
Students in Ms. Sample's sixth grade science class participated in an inquiry-based rocket building project. Guided by the expertise of Mr. Torie Earle, 4H Science and Technology, Carr students worked in pairs to design and to build rockets using only two liter bottles, duct tape, and card stock paper. Asking only questions to redirect students during the design phase of the project, Mr. Earle challenged the students to solve the rocket design challege independently. The rockets were then launched on the front lawn of the school charged by water and air pressure.
