BUDDING ENGINEERS - Students joining in the first week of 21st Century Community Learning Centers Summer Camp at Carr Elementary School spent Monday learning about rockets. The students made and flew straw rockets. They flew the rockets numerous times while measuring the distance of each flight. The campers also used part of the first day to work on their own water bottle rockets. Plans are to launch these rockets, made from empty plastic soda bottles, Tuesday morning on the grounds of Carr Elementary. More photos from Monday's session of camp may be found by clicking on the photo galleries link on the main page of this website. Any Fulton Independent School student who has completed second grade through seventh grade may attend this week's summer camp. Camp will begin Tuesday morning at 8 a.m. and will end at noon. Those planning to join in the fun should have their parents bring them to the Carr Cafeteria entrance on the College Street side of the school. Breakfast and lunch will be served to each camper. The camp will run through Thursday. A second camp, that will focus on arts, will be held July 15 - July 18. For more information on this week's camp or the July sessions, please call Kim Jobe at 662-396-1413 or send her an email to email@example.com. The summer camps are financed with federal 21st CCLC funds.
